This summer I decided to take lighting matters into my own hands and embarked on a bumpy journey into the alien world of computer technology and threw myself wholeheartedly into learning the art of programming the lights that illuminate these paintings. It took a while for me to find anything vaguely intuitive that I could get my heart around....I went from analogue mixing desks sent from Germany to ridiculously over complicated and uninspiring software programmes (surely) designed by everyday geeks.  Eventually I found the perfect program to suit my intuitive needs ~ it was visually appealing and it was REALLY satisfying to stretch my left brain muscles a little.  I came up with a much better system than before, whereby each painting has 10 different light shows, hence catering for a variety of moods and speeds. Most finish with what I call a party program which is quite upbeat and mind bending. The slower programmes are really healing and having spent many an hour with these paintings, I realise how instant the effects from the colour waves are on the mind, body and soul. I quite often found myself in a trance~like state where no thought could bust through.....which could take quite a while to achieve through meditation but with these paintings it is almost instant. The research of using light with colour for healing is still a relatively unexplored area although it has been a crucial healing ingredient of ancient civilizations such as the Egyptians, Greeks and the Romans. I would love to reach large numbers of people with these paintings as they clearly do what they were intended to do, which is soothe the soul and raise the vibration.
